Setting state of interface to 'off' on Gaia OS does not turn off the link on that interface.

Check Point recommends that remote management connections use a dedicated management interface (DMI) that connects directly to a router or switch that leads to the external network or the Internet. You can choose to use a non-dedicated management interface by connecting a Virtual Router or Virtual Switch to the management interface.

• Launch the Homebrew Menu from your Switch and look for Checkpoint. Then launch Checkpoint by pressing 'A' 2.
• Checkpoints are local to a switch. When you create a checkpoint, a snapshot of the current running configuration is stored in a checkpoint file. If you do not provide a checkpoint name, Cisco NX-OS sets the checkpoint name to user-checkpoint-number, where the number is from 1 to 10.

1. Set the state of interface to 'off':

   • Either in Gaia Portal:

     Go to Network Management section - click on Network Interfaces - select the interface - click on Edit button - clear the box Enable - click on OK

   • Or in Gaia Clish:

     HostName> set interface <NAME> state off

2. Check the link on Gaia OS:

   [Expert@HostName:0]# ethtool <NAME>

   Output shows:

   Link detected: yes

3. Interface's LED on Gaia machine stays on (no data, not blinking). Pallet jack forklift.
